The message to all people is the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the reason He gave His life for lost humanity. The Great Commission is that Christ is building a Church though His obedient servants. However, the Great Commission does not focus on recruiting people for a social movement but does focus on proclaiming that each person’s sins can be forgiven.
“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:13-14
Preaching Jesus is not merely documenting the life of a historical figure. It is proclaiming a living Christ who can be personally known, present within us and active in our lives. Being born again opens the way not only to salvation, but also to a relationship—even a friendship— with Christ.
